A thru Z Inspections, Home Inspectors Biography

John Bracket and I became friends while working for the gerneral contractor building the Grand America Hotel in Salt Lake City, Utah. We both had spent many years in the construction trade and were looking for an avenue to own our own business.

John, a former general contractor himself, had spent many years building homes and building subdivisions before moving to Utah. I had spent many years in different fields of construction, earning my journeymans license and exploring different avenues of the construction trades. I spent time in commercial, residential, highways, and ground stabilization.

Towards the conclusion of constructing the Grand America Hotel, John and I decided to higher on with the Grand America, working in their Engineering department. It is here that we expanded our knowledge and abilities with electrical, plumbing, and HVAC. We worked in the central plant and oversaw all of the mechanical systems of the building. After 5 years of working as engineers we decided to start our own business.

While contemplating what type of business we wanted to start, the one thing that stuck in our mind was that we have the ability and knowledge to help other people out. So we decided to start a home inspection business where we could help buyers and sellers by inspecting their property and advising them on the condition. What is probably the most expensive decision one will ever make in their life, it is of upmost importance that you make the right decision and know that you are buying/selling a sound, structural, stable home.

We joined the National Association of Certified Home Inspectors, took their exams and began our new adventure. Now 5 years later, and hundreds of inspections under our belt, there is nothing that brings us more joy than inspecting a property and being able to take the burden of not knowing the true condition of a property off of the buyers/sellers mind.
